In 2011, the song Forty Six & 2 was used in the Captain America: The First Avenger trailer. The song borrows elements from Carl Jung’s theory of collective unconscious but deals primarily with the concept that we, as people, exist in a disharmonious state and that with another pair of chromosomes, we can shed our own fragmented skin and physically evolve into a greater, more unified form. The song is about transformation—about changing into the best version of yourself and embracing what you were always meant to be.

The Avengers » a brief summary

volouminous:

You can be mature and respectful and still have a dirty sense of humour.

You can curse a lot and still be highly intelligent with a massive vocabulary.

You can be quiet and reserved and still be witty and even outgoing in certain circles.

You can be intelligent and sharp-minded and still forget what month it is

you can dance if you wanna, you can leave your friends behind

Once you have your origin of a team, the next story is really about, “How can that paradigm sustain, once they’ve digested their shawarma? Can these people actually stand each other?” It’s interesting ‘cause we see a lot of new loyalties and friendships. We’re introducing the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and they did not necessarily start out being bestest friends with the Avengers. Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to be a little more grown up than the first one. A little scarier. A little funkier. But in the end, its got the same extraordinary characters and a lot of humor. And yes, there may be some punching. -Joss Whedon
